#ShopAVL: Scout Boutique

One of the latest additions to the Asheville shopping scene is Scout Boutique and it is C-U-T-E! I heard through multiple sources - my hair stylist, bloggers, Instagram - that a fellow fashionable Tar Heel was opening a new spot in Biltmore Village that couldn't be missed...and they were right!

Scout offers contemporary women's clothing, a curated consignment section, denim bar, and a peppering of local designers. You'll see of-the-moment pieces like off-the-shoulder blouses, crop tops, and box clutches mixed in with timeless pieces that go from workweek to weekend. I noticed a great variety of prints and textures, two things that make clothing so exciting to shop for, and of course to wear! The shop is more style-focused than brand-centric, but you'll still find a few familiar names peppered throughout the shop. Like, oh I don't know, a Self Portrait dress hanging out in the consignment section!

Speaking of buzz worthy brands, guess who's got vintage Levi's in stock? Yep, I found the street style staple hanging out and was probably a little too excited. These didn't go home with me, but I'm confident I will find the right pair here before too long.

Is this not the dreamiest lingerie you've ever seen? It's designed by Asheville local Elise Olson for her line, OnTheInside, which you can shop on Etsy and now in-person at Scout. Each piece is so dainty and romantic, and not just meant for private eyes only. The beautiful tones and details of her bras, especially, would look amazing popping out from under a slim-cut tank, strappy dress, or deep vee blouse.

I finally made my way back to the dressing room with a few contenders in tow, including this navy scalloped swing dress. Scalloped edges are a current favorite of mine (I blame Marysia Swim) and this under $60 dress was speaking my language. I live in dresses during the summer and now with baby Harlow, I'm all about grab-n-go easy (but cute, always cute) options.

Speaking of Harlow, guess who got some solid QT with Scout owner, Dema Badr, while Mama played dress up? Seriously. What more could a mom possibly want out of a shopping experience?! The clothes: stylish. The prices: friendly. The willingness to help out a mom just trying to treat herself: free of charge. (PS: I kind of swooned over how Dema and Harlow's outfits coincidentally coordinated).

These two pieces went home with me and are already racking up the compliments! I'm really into bare shoulders and statement earrings, as well as bright corals with deep blues. I picked up these tassel earrings to wear with my new Scout finds.

It's so exciting to have a shop in town that I'm excited to keep up with. Follow Scout on Instagram at @scoutavl to keep up with new arrivals...but you'll have to beat me to them!
