Red, White + Bright
As someone who gravitates toward white dresses and black leather, I'm enjoying mixing it up with brighter, bolder colors this summer. Pink, red, turquoise, marigold...they just make you smile, right?
Lately I've been really into Tularosa's dresses, including this Desert Moon dress I picked up from Revolve for my birthday. It checks all the boxes for a summer dress: fun, feminine, and a little bit flirty.
Hold on, I'm not done! It's incredibly lightweight and extremely easy to move in. Breastfeeding moms, you may be interested in the elastic neckline that makes nursing a breeze without having to disrobe or mess with annoying buttons. Summer is the peak season of socializing and this dress really accommodates moms on the go. You don't even have to pull the straps down.
Also killing it in the cute-but-comfy department are these Marc Fisher espadrilles. You may have seen them a time or twenty on Instagram; they're basically the shoe of summer. The thick platform disguises the surprisingly low-grade wedge...AKA they're the most comfortable 4" heel known to man. They're also selling out as soon as they hit the shelves, but I found a good size run at Zappos.
Tassels and pom poms are this summers most ubiquitous accent, and for good reason. They add an element of whimsy to your outfit, plus a good pop of color. The rainbow tassels on this straw tote totally sold me on upgrading my beach bag. It only costs $35 and comes in three other colors. A giant, summery tote is such a versatile bag for errands and activities, like trips to the farmers' market, evening picnics, and, of course, pool parties.
#RealTalk time: finding the time to shoot outfit posts is no easy task. Mike and I try to squeeze a few looks in on weekend mornings while Harlow naps, but as you can imagine the time flies when you're having fun (and totally changing your outfit several times). When we shot this look, we took Harlow with us into Biltmore Park's town square and couldn't resist photographing that angelic little face!
