If It Ain't Broke...

This fall, I went crazy over prints. Leopard, stripes, glen plaid, checked plaid...the bolder the better. I decided to balance things out a bit with a return to tried-and-true forever classics. A camel blazer. A striped tee. Dark denim and suede boots.

All of these pieces have been in my closet for multiple years now. (Well, that's not totally true...I did technically buy the shirt this year but only to replace its worn-out predecessor). The point is, when you buy classic pieces, you're investing in longevity, fully expecting to wear them until love-worn holes or lived-in stains take them down.

There's something so right about a pop of red on an otherwise neutral outfit. A leather tote would look nice, too, but the red shoulder bag turned the whole look up another notch. I just love adding a splash of red with a bag or lip when I'm wearing white, blue, and camel tones. Maybe it's the French girl vibe...maybe it's my patriotic bone trying to flex...either way it works!

I'm so excited to see over-the-knee boots so embraced this season! The taller silhouette is one of those slight tweaks to a wardrobe staple that brings your whole look up to date. My favorite kind are slightly slouchy; they look the best with jeans, dresses, and skirts. I'm chomping at the bit to get a gray pair to wear with white jeans and sweaters in dusty pastel hues.

Light gray, dark gray, black or burgundy, I have so many faves to share with you!
