Weekend Things | Checking In Before I Check Out
Good morning! I wanted to pop in for a few before I go underground during the big move into our new house! It's very exciting...and also a complete and utter whirlwind. I thought packing and moving to a different state while pregnant was a tall task. It's when the baby's out that things get really interesting LOL!
In the short term, I've got a fab OOTD post coming tomorrow -- a great casual chic outfit idea for style on the go. Total 'you'll live in this' potential. The whole look is in heavy current rotation and each piece is wallet friendly. So stay tuned for that tomorrow morning!
From a longer view, the move is going to put a temporary hold on new blog posts after tomorrow. The hiatus will be short-lived, but once in the new house I'll need to limit how much of my life I live out of boxes by at least 50% before I get back to my blogging ways. And I'll need that essential utility we call the Internet installed beforehand, too. (Sometimes I forget that Wi-fi isn't just freely floating around at all times for us to use when and where we please).
I will still be posting to my Instagram (@brooklync82) and official Facebook page so we can still hang via social media in the meantime! I don't want to share too much of the new house until it's officially done and decorated...but I probably won't be able to resist a few Insta snaps and stories in the interim.
So -- before I tap out, I wanted to leave you with a few recent faves in the shop, sip, and snack departments in my latest 'Weekend Things' round up. Yeah I know it's not officially Friday yet but if I learned one thing in Chapel Hill it's that the weekend starts on Thursdays! True story: during freshmen orientation, we watched a video introducing us to campus life and there was a big section on how the weekend starts on Thursdays at Carolina. Which confirmed to every eighteen-year-old in the room that going to UNC was a good decision -- rah rah Carolina-lina!

The results are in: rigatoni is my favorite noodle. I like her friends rosemary and parmesan, too.
'Tis the season for slow cookers and this Potato and Spicy Italian Sausage soup is the perfect way to warm up a chilly weekend. (There's kale in it, too!)
Officially on board the noodleless lasagna train and I don't miss the pasta part at all! Great for freezing and reheating on a busy weeknight.
If a tater tot is made out of cauliflower does it count as cheating? Or diet-friendly?
A mug of mulled cider by the fire is one of life's simplest pleasures.
