Shop Edit: Swimsuits for Moms and Minis

I think I've officially made the switch to one pieces you guys. It's not out of some belief that I'm a mom, therefore I should be more covered up....I just like them better now (though it is nice not worry about accidentally flashing a stranger or having your little one inadvertently untie your bikini string!) And honestly I've been loving the prints and details on one pieces more than bikinis recently. I can't get enough of the bright colors and fun prints!

Sometimes I have to order a few at one time to see if they're long enough through the torso. I've found some super cute suits at great prices from Target.com (online, the selection in our local store is a big no for me) but some have been so short I looked like Borat especially when I had nursing boobs LOL!

This season I'm having AMAZING luck with the Sugar Coast by Lolli line. I ordered the halter parakeet print (#1 below) and this laser-cut heart print which has cut-outs and a scoop back so it's a bit on the sexier side. They both fit perfectly, are so flattering, and cost under $40 each. I got Mediums in both., and you can see how they fit in my Memorial Day Weekend recap post. I've also found certain brands like J. Crew and Athleta offer longer/tall sizes FYI!

I've always compared swimsuit shopping to jeans shopping: it takes time, patience, and lots of trying on. Most of the places I like to shop for bathing suits don't carry them in store (or at least the ones I like) so there's really nothing you can do but order multiple contenders and keep what you like! And oh are there so many to like! I'm feeling good with the two I got this year and my black one-piece from last year...but some of these others are really calling my name!

Of course it is WAY more exciting to shop for Harlow's bathing suits! Like you could put a baby in a burlap sack, call it waterproof, and we'd all die from cuteness overload. I know I should embrace the rash guard type suits for better sun protection, but I just canNOT resist an itsy bitsy teeny weeny bikini! Or one piece with a darling print :D Harlow's been rocking that rainbow sherbet ruffled number (#12) and the watermelon tutu (#2), and I just got her this flamingo suit, too! As much as she loves the water I'll probably pick up another suit or two -- I'm looking at you leopard print!

Numbers #5 and 6 are by this brand called Minnow which I just discovered via an event they did in Charleston with some of the bloggers there. The backs of the suits with the criss cross straps and ruffles are just the CUTEST! They ring in on the higher side for kid's swimwear (over $50 in some cases) but sometimes you just gotta let go and embrace the cuteness of kids clothes! I think all moms have succumbed to something that's just far too adorable to pass up despite the price tag ;D

Thanks for stopping by on this happy Friday! See you next week with a round-up of my everyday spring outfits that didn't get featured here on the blog, plus another What I'm Wearing post with Sophie!

Have an awesome weekend! 💜 Brooke
