Y'all wanna know something funny? When we shot this outfit a couple weeks ago, this was like the ONLY tree in the entire neighborhood that was fall-y looking haha! I was going around lamenting the fact that the leaves just weren't going to turn this year (silly, in retrospect) and now! Now Asheville is specTACular! Driving around town is seriously a treat, especially on the parkway. The road I live on is beautiful, too, and there's a street in Biltmore Park that is lined on both sides with the most vibrant yellow trees. I literally stopped in the middle of the road yesterday to get a photo of All Souls Church sitting behind gorgeous orange trees. The rain ruined it...stupid rain....
Anyways, let's move on from the leaves and get on to this look! I'll admit, I've never been much of a pearl person. A pair of stud earrings, a Chanel necklace, and that's about it for me. I love how southern and classic pearls are, but they're usually too sweet for my personal style. But! This season the fashion tastemakers are embellishing just about everything from here to the kitchen sink with pearls and it's all SOOOO fun!
Berets are another current trend that kinda came outta nowhere but is fun to give a go. Combine the two and a pearl studded beret -- or shoes or top or sweater -- is such an easy way to add a little zing to simple outfit. I got more compliments on that hat in one day that just about anything else I've worn lately so trust me when I tell you that any one of these pieces will make an impact on your wardrobe rotation.
And can we just all agree that the little black dress (#4) is the perfect little girl's Christmas dress??
I really really really think we all need those champagne flute earrings for the holidays! Dress them up or rock them with a t-shirt. Talk about a great gift idea, too!
