My Princess Moment | Asheville Couture Holiday Collection

Is there any girl out there who doesn't love a good princess moment? I had mine earlier this week when I got to dress up in Asheville Couture's holiday collection and I'm still swooning over the glamourness of it all. (Okay so maybe that's not a word but sometimes you have to get creative to really sum your feelings up the right way LOL!). Amy Walker of AE Studios hooked me up with the half-up braided hairstyle of my dreams -- I swear that girl can do ANYTHING with hair!

Sometimes it's enough for me to just look at a beautiful dress and take it at that. But the BEST pieces have a bit more thought and love put into them, and that's how I'd describe these show stopping dresses. Angela Kim, the designer, custom makes them to fit your body, so we're already talking next level. Anything bespoke is going to look bananas on your figure because it's meant to fit it just perfectly. Another thing is she sources a lot of her fabrics and materials from Europe.

Between the perfect fit and the gorgeous fabrics, I think more brides and mothers of brides should think about getting Angela to create something special for a wedding! Mother-of-the-bride dresses are maybe one of the hardest things to shop for -- they can look matronly so quickly! Having something glam made just for you or your mother would be so perfect for getting the right look for something as special as your wedding day!

We got the princess party started at Honeysuckle Hill, a premier wedding venue nestled in the hills of Asheville. The short silver lace and lamé dresses gave me fun, vintage, girly vibes and so I wanted to style them accordingly. Mingle Events and Vintage Rentals leant us their 1955 Bel Air for the day and daaaaang I never knew I wanted a vintage car so badly!!! I definitely feel that if Cinderella's pumpkin carriage hadn't panned out she would've wanted a midcentury Bel Air to cruise around in haha!

1 | Metallic Lace Fit 'n' Flare Dress

I love this silver lace dress so much! It's totally a timeless holiday cocktail dress in both style and silhouette. I'm obsessed with the dimension and luster of the lace, too. This dress and the next one gave me some fun, girly, vintage vibes that I played up with these vintage cap-toe heels, and this beaded handbag handed down to me from my grandmother. Also, this car! I can't stop fawning over it!

2 | Silk Lamé signature dress

Raise your hand if you put on dresses or skirts and twirl around to make your skirt fly out! This gold lamé swing dress was SO good for that! The hidden crinoline sewn under the skirt gave it some fullness, too. This dress felt so easy and comfortable to wear and move around in. I'd give this my vote for what a "holiday hostess with the mostess" should wear!

PS -- can Mingle decorate for the holidays or what?! I'm having major Christmas mantle envy in these photos haha!

3 | Metallic Lace Gown

Bond. Brooke Bond.

OMG Mike and I thought we were ready for the Oscars in our black tie holiday look. We so rarely get to dress up like reallllly dress up and we had a ball! I'll tell you that the slit in this gown is no joke and I was channeling all my Angelina Jolie vibes haha! But on a serious note, this dress makes you feel like royalty. I had to hold the skirt to walk and that in and of itself is a fairly standard princess move you know what I'm saying?

Also I'm in L-O-V-E with Mike's beard and will be so sad when it shaves it off next week.

4 | Brocade Gown

This rich brocade fabric just screams holidays doesn't it? In person it's even more to-die for. The sweetest lady came up to us and was raving about how beautiful the fabric and dress were. It's just sexy enough up top to balance the length without going too risqué. I wanted to go to the Nutcracker Ballet or a fancy gala in this gown! And even though I usually feel more secure with my hair down, I had to tie it back to really show off this deep dramatic back.

What an incredible day we had playing dress up in Angela's designs! Thanks again to everyone who made this the most fun day!
