Best Date Destinations in Asheville

Date nights have never meant more to me than they do now as a mom when they're few and far between. It's so hard to decide where to go, which new places to try, or which old familiar haunts to reacquaint ourselves with. Having grown up here, there are a few places that are near and dear to my heart I just love to visit over and over. But we're always getting new places with innovative menus and tastes that make trying something new such a fun thing to share with your main squeeze.

I thought it would be fun to share some ideas and destinations to consider if you're planning your next Asheville date night! Excuse me while I go call the babysitter :D

  • Grab a cocktail and watch the sunset (or the game) on the terrace of the Edison at The Grove Park Inn. I love the casual vibe and lounging couches that are perfect for snuggling and "riding the bus" with your bae.

  • Splurge on a couple's massage at Grove Park's famous spa. It's pricy but it is SO worth it! You can enjoy the spa pools, hot tubs, and lounges together, too.

  • Want your hot tub with a view? Book a stay at Shoji Japanese Spa & Lodge and enjoy your own private soaking tub among the trees, plus a sauna, and a cold plunge pool.

  • Take a drive out to Addison Farms Vineyard for breathtaking views and a glass of wine on their peaceful back porch. You can see photos from our visit to the vineyard HERE.

  • Sign up for one of Imperial Life's workshops to learn more about your favorite libations. We did the bourbon workshop last spring and even my Kentucky dad learned a lot! I recommend starting with brunch or finishing with lunch downstairs at Table.

  • Go for a drive on the parkway, bring a blanket and a backpack, and hike up to an overlook or a waterfall. Catch your breath while you relax, refuel, and maybe take a swim if you can handle the chilly water!

  • Head to West Asheville for jazz night at Jargon, and enjoy their delicious cocktails and decor in their historic building.

  • Downtown day time: create your own walking brewery tour in the South Slope area. I recommend you try the following breweries: Asheville Brewing, Twin Leaf, Catawba, and Green Man. The new Green Man building is beautiful but there's something special about the original space next door!

  • Downtown night time: so many places to choose from it's hard to pick just a few. Right now, I love starting with a cocktail at Sovereign Remedies, walking to dinner at Rhubarb, and finishing with a fireside nightcap on the rooftop bar at Capella on 9 at the AC Hotel.

  • Biltmore by day: Pack a picnic and relax next to the lagoon in view of the Biltmore House. (We just went as a family; you can see photos HERE.) Bring your bike or your walking shoes to take advantage of the paved trails that wander the estate.

  • Biltmore by night: Unwind with a glass of bubbly on the Inn's veranda with unobstructed mountain views.

  • For thrill seekers: Zip line side-by-side through the mountain's treetop canopies at Navitat.

  • Spend the afternoon strolling through quaint downtown Hendersonville.

  • Sip margaritas by the fire on Bartaco's outdoor stone patio.

  • Pamper those tootsies with a foot soak at Wake Foot Sanctuary in the Grove Arcade. Guys, believe me. You'll love every second of it. (Even pro athletes get foot rubs and pedis; it's true!)

By no means is this list all-inclusive -- I'm constantly discovering new places to love and new experiences to enjoy! Feel free to shoot me a message and tell me where you love to go to date your honey.

Hope you're having a great week! Tomorrow is Friday woo hoooo!
