Weekend Things: All About Fall

So it's technically fall now, it's actually October already somehow, and yet when I walk outside my door I feel the remnants of summer still dancing in the air. I've already bought some sweaters with more in my shopping carts. My boots are lined up and ready to go. But it's still too damn hot here in Asheville to wear fall clothes. (Pretty sure Ingrid just said we're setting records here.) A scarf looks like a torture device to me right now...though I have some really cute and fairly cheap plaid scarves just waiting on my wish list for the weather to turn.

The fall feels are circling me, though, I can tell. I'm suddenly all about my slow cooker and some warm, hearty soups and stews. I'm watching the Hallmark channel with increasing regularity. And I think we've got our family Halloween costumes picked out. So to borrow from House Stark, fall is coming and I've got some fun ideas, items, and recipes to share with you in the name of autumn.

First up: I just created some fall-themed Pinterest boards full of autumn inspiration! Check out these boards on:

For those days you're in a style rut and need a little fall fashion inspiration. A great way to find new ideas for freshening up old pieces, and seeing which pieces you may want to add this year to work with what you've already got.

Cozy and comforting. All the best fall foods and recipes to warm your tummy and your home.

How many ways can you style ornamental Indian corn? Quite a few it turns out! All kinds of inspiration for decorating your home for fall -- from your fireplace to your front porch -- in a way that suits your style.

Where I keep a running list of all the fun fall styles I'm crushing on this season! Not every piece I love makes it into a blog post so you can always see what I'm shopping here. Also, a Pinterest wish list is great way to visualize all the pieces together, and a fab shopping hack for reminding yourself of the styles you love when you're out shopping and feeling overwhelmed.

Get your fall on the ball: AVL Today shared a fab fall MustDo events calendar for Asheville and I've already circled several things. Definitely check it out if you live in the 828!

Fall flicks. This list of fall movies is full of classics and will get you in an autumn mood even if it is 80 degrees outside. (No, they're not Hallmark movies ICYWW.)

Giving 'Hair Care' a whole new meaning. I discovered the label Headband of Hope at local Asheville boutique Nest. For every hair accessory sold, a headband is given to a child with cancer. Are you crying like I am? I got the navy tie scrunchie and love it. It's the hair accessory I'm wearing in the lead photo.

Scent-sational. This brand makes the BEST candles of all time. The smell fills your home and the burn time lasts forever. Even better: they're now on Prime.

Do you know the muffin man? He's up to new tricks with this list of 20 appetizers you can make using your muffin tin. Mini chicken tostadas, mini lasagnas, mini mac 'n' cheese bites...yes, yes, and yes.

Party time, egg-celent! Found the best method of frying an egg.

Miracle worker. This stain remover soap bar gets out ALL the hard stuff...and it's super cheap!

Take it off. Just got this micellar cleansing water from the drug store and it cuts right through my makeup while cleansing and toning.

Call me Penny Lane (the Kate Hudson version). I'm obsessed with vintage band t-shirts right now. Love this Rolling Stones, this Pink Floyd, and this Def Leppard shirt.

And another one. Biggie Biggie Biggie, can't you see? Sometimes your shirts just hypnotize me. Need THIS Notorious BIG t-shirt in my life.

Cutest costume award goes to...Pottery Barn Kids hits it out of the park again with this year's kids costume collection. I love the cloud, the butterfly fairy, the mermaid, and the woodland deer costumes.

Vest in dress. I'm not usually a knit vest person but I love the color blocking of THIS vest. A great piece to dress up basic leggings and booties.

Loop de loop. Dying over THIS fringed sweater jacket. To wear with a band t-shirt. Basically what my fall wardrobe dreams are made of.

Grr baby. Leopard print is particularly big this year. Love this leopard print wrap dress for under $50.

*clicks 'Add to Amazon Cart.'*. This bestselling book is getting some of the highest praise I've ever seen.

Insta-gossip. The co-founders of Instagram resigned suddenly and haven't given their reasons why. Wonder if the same issues that are plaguing Instagram's users, the ones pushed on us by IG's parent company, Facebook, drove Systrom and Krieger out. Time will tell.

Socially savvy. For anyone looking to grow their Instagram account in any way should sign up for Later's emails. They're always full of great, short reads on tips, tricks, insights, and news on the ol' Gram.

Have a fabulous weekend y'all! I'm planning on shooting a bunch of fall outfit ideas this weekend -- fingers crossed the weather and my two-year-old hold up!
