Fall Outfit Idea: Tweed Jacket + Torn Jeans

I've always loved a good "mixed" outfit. Mixed prints. Pricy pieces worn with budget buys. Edgier items that add spice to softer, feminine separates.

Take this tweed jacket for example. It's got that Chanel vibe that says 'polished and proper,' worn by ladies who lunch or run their empires from their corner office. All great...just not me. I like to amp up a conservative jacket like this one with unexpected pairings like ripped jeans, sneakers, and a vintage band tee.

Truth be told, I've wanted to create an outfit like this for awhile now. I had all the pieces except a tweed jacket because -- let's face it -- I hadn't found the right style for the right price. Since this style of jacket would be more of an accent piece for me instead of a heavily worn staple, I didn't want to pay out the wazoo but still wanted quality.

I finally found this perfect tweed jacket at Versona for under $50! I love the mixed berry colors in the tweed and LOVE the fringed edges, including the cuffs. Those details already give the jacket a little bit of edge that I can emphasize with more casual pieces.

Of course, you can always style this dress more conservatively or business casual to suit your dress code. Paired with a pencil skirt, some wide leg trousers, or over a sheath dress it would look excellent. Point being, you can make this type of jacket work for you and your personal style of dress.

Now that I've found my jacket, I may have to load up on more vintage band tees to wear this look on repeat. Twist my arm already :D
