Anniversary Getaway To Grove Park Inn | Photo & Video Diary

Last Sunday we made our annual eight mile journey to north Asheville for our anniversary trip to Omni Grove Park Inn. It's hands-down one of my very favorite weekends of the whole year. The Grove Park Spa is my happy place, so relaxing and rejuvenating. I learned once I became a mom that there's a difference between a "trip" and a "vacation" once kids enter the picture. Our couples trip to the Grove Park for a romantic weekend actually feels like a real getaway, even though it's truly a staycation for us.

I posted a video diary with from our stay (including footage from the Club Level) to my IGTV channel! You can CLICK HERE to watch it, or scroll below to watch the embedded version in this post. Otherwise, keep reading for tips on booking your own amazing getaway to the Grove Park Inn.

Know Before You Go: So back we went for our seventh wedding anniversary, as is our tradition. (I posted about last year's trip HERE). The past two year's we've stayed on the Club Level and it's a game changer y'all. For starters, staying at the Grove Park ain't cheap. Going to the spa really really ain't cheap, and on the weekends you can't even get in without Club Level access or a spa service appointment. (Monday through Thursday day passes are $75 per person.) Let's put it this way: there are no budget-buy service options at the Grove Park spa, so if you just want to enjoy the mineral pools and hot tubs having a Club Level pass is the way to go if you're a hotel guest.

Club Level Amenities: When you stay on the Club Level, you get spa access every day (including the day you check out), free valet, happy hour with open bar, complimentary breakfast, and your own concierge. Anything you could possibly want, they will find it for you. It's expensive, to be sure, but once you factor in the a la carte costs of a room, spa, parking, and several trips to the resort restaurants and bars, the value is there.

Spa Tips: There are so many amazing features in the Grove Park Spa, you'll want plenty of time to try them all. I always like to start with hot-cold therapy using their dry sauna for about ten minutes before going in the cold plunge pool. Tip: right after you cold plunge, go straight into the hot tub connected to it. Your skin will tingle in the best ways. Pro tips: on beautiful, sunny days, first go put your towel on a lounge chair by to the outdoor hot tub to reserve a space. It fills up FAST! If it starts to rain, cuddle up with a book by the fireplaces in your lounge area. Tea, coconut water, and light snacks are free to enjoy.

Spa Essentials: Grove Park Spa makes it really clear they are a cell phone free space. That includes tablets and e-readers, too, so bring your paperback! (I went rogue to get a couple quick snaps and quickly put my silenced phone back in my bag.) You can bring a bag (which I highly recommend) to tote around your book, sunscreen, sunglasses, wallet, etc. They'll assign you a locker for changing and storing your belongings, as well as a robe and slippers. Towels are supplied, as well as all shower amenities including razors, hair dryers, hair spray, body lotion, disposable brushes, and hair ties.

Secret Restaurant: Every year we always have sunset cocktails on the Sunset Terrace before dinner at Edison Craft Ales + Kitchen. After a relaxing day of unwinding at the spa, we prefer to eat dinner at the Edison bar when we're ready instead of having to rush for a reservation. There are several restaurants on property to choose from, some casual, some fine dining. Admittedly resort food can get a little heavy and rich over time so we also like to go to Golden Fleece across the road from the Grove Park in the Grovewood Gallery. The mediterranean fare is nice and light, and the decor is rustic chic.

Video Diary

It's safe to say I'm addicted to making travel vlogs of our trips these days! I love filming little scenes from our trips to share with y'all; video just captures an experience in ways photos simply can't do. (Not to knock photos because I'll always cherish pictures!)

I hope y'all enjoy this video diary of our trip to Grove Park Inn! ICYMI, don't forget to check out the video vlog of our Kentucky Bourbon Trail experience, as well as my fashion styling tutorials on my IGTV channel.
